Eerie v3 #2 - Frank Frazetta cover, Alex Toth art

Frank Frazetta

Eerie v3 #2, 1966 - Frank Frazetta's first cover for the series is pretty static, especially compared to his other works for Warren. The layout and theme also appear rather straightforward. Inside, Alex Toth draws a gallery owner's quest to find the talented artist of disturbingly realistic paintings. His drawings and page layouts are reliably solid. Interestingly, Toth's panel shapes become more erratic as the story nears its horrific climax. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Angelo Torres, Reed Crandall and Gray Morrow. This is 1 of 7 Eerie issues by Frazetta and 1 of 5 Eerie issues by Toth.
