Wild Western #56 - Matt Baker art

Wild Western v1 #56, 1955 - Two cowboys partner up on a lucrative gold claim, each deciding to take it all for himself. Succinctly told in four pages, Matt Baker shows a high level of comfort with the western genre. Despite some brightly colored panels (see interior page below), Baker's draftsmanship is finely honed within well-designed layouts. Other artists in this issue include Jack Keller, Marvin Stein, Joe Sinnott, Marvin Stein and Joe Maneely. This is number 1 of 1 Wild Western issues with Baker art and/or covers. See today's posts, more Baker or Wild Western issues. See also this blog's Baker checklist.
