Annie Oakley #9 - Al Williamson art

Annie Oakley v1 #9, 1956 - Al Williamson employs a rougher style of brushwork on many of his western stories, including this fine example. Though only a mere four pages, the panels are superbly and intricately drawn. The opening page has a typically large panel, in this case featuring the story's central character in full depiction. The frontier settings and naturally pristine backgrounds (especially the surrounding trees and foliage) throughout look especially good. These outdoor scenes nicely evoke the open spaces of the American old west. This is number 1 of 1 Annie Oakley issues with Williamson art and/or covers.
