Two-Fisted Tales #24 - Wally Wood art

Two-Fisted Tales #24
Two-Fisted Tales v1 #24, 1951 - An American GI resorts to pure animal instinct in order to survive his ordeal during the Korean War. Rather than focusing on entire armies, Wally Wood is tasked with depicting the emotional and psychological toll of an individual. His artwork is slightly less detailed than previous issues, lacking an abundance of texture and complexity in some areas. Not an exemplary effort, but a solid one nonetheless. This story was later reprinted in Two-Fisted Tales v2 #7. Jack Davis delivers more visceral results on his own Korean War tale. Other artists in this golden age comic include John Severin, Bill Elder and Harvey Kurtzman. Cover by Kurtzman. This is 7 of 18 Two-Fisted Tales issues by Wood.
